Rama Devi
Born in village Jitwarpur, of Madhubani District Bihar, Rama Devi has been painting since childhood she inherited this art from her motherChano Devi who was a world famous Goidana , artist. Her paintings are very spantaneous and inspired from nature , ritual and culture. Elephants, cows, Bull, Turtoise, Tree of Life, stories of Raja salhesh Maharaj are her recurrent theames.Her paintings on crow and tree of life are most unique. She uses natural colors directly with brush on canvas and handmade paper. Her paintings are in permanent collection of Mithila museum Japan, and several private collections in USA, Singapore and India. Married to artist late Guneshwar prasad Nirala, Rama Devi works and Lives in village Satghara of Madhubani district Bihar.
